Mike's Extended Thoughts of the Day:

    Mike's "Real Men of Genius"

Paying homage to the gentlemen that made humanity a lot easier with there trivial and arcane idea's, concepts and inventions.

    1. Mr. Oxygen-Bar-Maker-Guy

Not only have you cornered the market on oxygen by your only competitor, the atmosphere, but you also have made it fashionable trendy to inhale oxygen at a designated, gaudy location. Moreover, not only can you inhale oxygen at this place; you can also order potato's with that canistered air on the side. "MMMmm...Potato's. I'll take 2 of those thank you very much". Mr-Oxygen-Bar-Maker-Guy we salute you.

    2. Mr. Guy-Who-Likes-To-Propose-At-Sports-Venues

Guys like you really deserve the props where props are due. Not only have you just encorporated sports into your relationship, but you also invited 32,450+ fans like yourself to share this special moment all at once. It's the best of both worlds now man. You got your significant other on your right and you got your favorite athletic sports team on your left. The union is truly a "HOME RUN" or "TOUCH DOWN" or even "SLAM DUNK" at this moment. Who can ask for anything more? I wouldn't. Mr. Guy-Who-Likes-To-Propose-At-Sports-Venues, we salute you.

    3. Mr. T-Shirt-Launcher-Guy

You, sir, have just invented the most potent weapon in the fight of all fights in every sports venue known to man. A T-shirt launched from a device that propels a T-shirt forward with momentum. That, my friend, can be termed, "hip" or "cool" in the sports community. For, not only have you riled a whole stadiium of people during periods of "Half Time" but you also gave them a free gift with a cheap thrill. After a brief training session and a 5 day holding period this little number can be operated by any guy who has five fingers and the mindset of "If it's solid let's launch it" Mr. T-Shirt-Launcher-Guy, we salute you.

    4. Mr. Guy-Who-Invented-Monday-Night-Football

Not only have you eliminated the melancholy, technical 1st business day of the week, but you also infused a new standard of living on Monday nights 16 weeks in a given year. With what God's gift to men all alike, FOOTBALL. That's 4 quarters of body-slamming, punt-returning, trash-talking and pissed-off-headcoach-yelling American football. No conference calls and paperwork this evening. No sir. For tonight, you and your pinstripe-wearing co-workers will be glued in front of the tube drinking ale and watching the glory of football being played. Mr. Guy-Who-Invented-Monday-Night-Football, we salute you.

    5. Mr. Tofu-Ice-Cream-Maker Guy

Not only have you just reinvented a traditional food item for the masses, but you just made it okay to produce it from tofu. Yes, tofu...Only found in solid form in any tradiitonal Asian stir fry, fried and/or soup dish. With half the calories and sugars as the traditional stuff, you say "Nay" to that. Bold move, man. Truly, a bold move. Revolutionize the dessert community altogether. Take that Dreyers! Good way to stick it to the MAN. Mr. Tofu-Ice Cream- Maker-Guy, we salute you

  • Wasssup everybody,

It's been a few weeks since updating this piece, due to vacation, work, etc.  However, here's what I've been doing.

Last weekend, I was up in Washington D.C. to attend the AT&T National golf event sponsorred by the T.Woods foundation.  It was awesome. I got to see Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and the likes compete in person.  Also, had the opportunity to tour the sites around Washington D.C. If you want to see pic's just hit up my Facbook or even Myspace page.  Their is a ton of pic's that were taken and too much to post on this site.

Along with that 4 to 5 day vacation, I've been trying to get back into the groove of work. Work's been ok, but having a really rough week getting back on the "grind".  This summer doesn't even feel like a summer to me unfortunately; the days feel shorter and the weeks go by in a flash it seems due to work along with other things in my life I that I deal with.

Also, my mother's tea shop, Teaforia, will be opening shortly.  Shorter than some of you think, LOL.  We were approved by the Health Dept. last Tues and we, as a company, have been trying to shuffle through our employees, products along with clean-up in anticipation for our "soft opening" in the approaching week.  If you guys want to know more about it, please feel free to ask.

(Here is a link to pic's of our store. Feel free to take the time to look if you have time)

Otherwise, through it all these last 3 weeks I've been really stressed and tired of many things.  This, I could attribute to the grind associated with work, flight back to LA, family-related affairs and my family's tea shop opening. If you guys are Christian, please pray for me that God will help give me strength and peace in my heart to get through all these things and not let all them affect me in a negative manor.

On that note, I like to wish both my bro and sister-n-law on the pregnancy. If my sister-n-law, does not go into labor by this weekend, they will medically induce labor this upcoming Monday, July 16.  I wish them all the best and will definitely be thinking and praying for them this weekend.

Mike's Extend Thoughts of the Day:

So, what exactly is the deal with public and their obsession with the "Stars", anyway? Are we, in our society, just so damn obsessed with what these movie stars are doing on a daily basis we need to have a channel dedicated to what they're doing, when they're doing and who they're doing it with 24/7 (I'm talking about the E! channel).

It just makes me feel both embarassed and irritated to see that our local and network news would rather broadcast the "Paris Hilton Watch 2007" over more important issues such as a new election in the coming year, the Iraqi war, how the stock market is performing today, etc.  I just question the priorities of these many network executives controlling our programs on television and also question our society in which (I'm afraid to say) has reached a new low in the world today.

The media.  All they care about are good ratings and nothing else.  Even if the topic is absurd, ridiculous or non-news at all.  Where is the real news these days? Has journalism completely died? They, the media, are  simply selling out for trash.

Moreover, what exactly makes the general public so damn fascinated with these movie stars?  Besides there jobs as actors/actresses/ performers/models they are just regular people like you and I.  So what if they're making millions? Bill Gates is making more. The owners of Google and Apple Computers are making 10 times more.  I really don't care if Britany Spears is going through a meltdown.  I can even care less about what Lindsey Lohan is doing by abusing her body with various drugs.  It's there lives and if they want to ruin it so be it.  Don't broadcast it on the news during prime time or dedicate a channel to go even more in-depth about it.

Let's be honest with ourselves here.  Even if these people are screwing up.  What the hell are you, the general public, going to do about? Nothing.  Because frankly, you neither have the money to fund there rehabilitation, nor DO YOU EVEN PERSONALLY KNOW THEM!  I feel sorry for the nearby neighbors living next to or around the vicinity of the Hiltons right now.  In a day or so she'll be released from prison and the media circus will follow from her jail cell all the way to the front door of her own house.  Why? Because the big media giants want to capture every single moment of her release and are willing to shell out the "big bucks" to get that "money shot".

I was just watching the news this afternoon and also read an article in the L.A. Times regarding these various neighbors to the Hilton family.  Did you know that the police will shut down the entire street that day to anticipate the media frenzy? Did you know that many residents will not be permitted to park right in front of there own homes because too many damn people will be jamming it up to cover her release?  And, did you know contracters and builders to the adjacent, constructed homes, will lose money that day because they won't be able to work on the job site because there trucks, gear and supplies will not be permitted to park around that area.   Why?  Because, we, as a society care too damn much over what this stupid stuck-up broad did by violating something as trivial as a probation term.

Honestly, the facts and figures just don't add up.  It's simply ridiculous!
